Mind the Comments.
Just a reminder to all readers. On days that no column is posted, there is still an active discussion going on in the comments section at the bottom of the two articles on the front page. Some of you are prolific commentators but many of you are watching from the sidelines. Feel free to join in.
Back to cricket. A President's Eleven beat England who rested Flintoff and Harmison, by 5 runs in Jaipur today ( President's Eleven - 260/5. England - 255 all out). Kaif top scored with 119 n.o.( 136 balls). Raina scored 49 off 46 balls with 10 fours and bowled well at the death( 6-0-28-0). Piyush Chawla and Romesh Powar bowled well too. Bell top scored for England with 71.
Here is my team for the 1st. ODI at Delhi.
Sehwag ( 1 more failure and he should be out), Gambhir, Dravid, Yuvraj, Kaif, Raina, Dhoni, Pathan, Romesh Powar, Munaf, Sreesanth. I know the selectors will take Bhajji instead of Powar but I would not. Powar is a better ODI bowler and better bat. I also fear for Pathan in ODIs. If the ball is not swinging around expect him to be murdered. His batting, however, is a plus.
Not selecting Kumble is a blunder by the selecters. They way he is bowling and batting, he would walk into my team at the expense of Bhajji.
Sehwag will, hopefully, have a better time in ODIs with the restrictions on the short stuff. His recent record in ODIs does not inspire confidence, though. One look at his figure and I do not know if I should laugh or cry. It is enough to make you think that players should be barred from getting into the restaurant business!! Unless he dramatically improves against the short ball ( that rarely happens), a can of worms has been opened and I expect all teams to play 'chin music' to him in tests.
I am enjoying a very different kind of music this weekend. God bless A R Rehman. He certainly gives me a lot more pleasure than the Indian cricket team. Have fun!

I hope India inflicts a 7-0 whitewash. Sri Lankans almost got a whitewash when they were here recently.
